ECR Management Highlight: Danielle Black

07/13/2022 ECR News

How did you get into your current profession?

I fell into this profession by accident! I was working in high tech about 20 years ago and was laid off. I found a job with a Real Estate Appraiser and worked for her for a little over a year, then applied for a job with Hines and the rest is history!

What gets you up and going every day?

Knowing that every day brings something new and exciting in this job. I look forward to coming to work each day, I can honestly say I love my job.

What are you good at, what comes naturally to you within your job?

I’ve been in customer service for so long that it just comes naturally to me. Back in California, we would send out the Kingsley Survey to our tenants annually. One of my pickiest tenants answered the question: what’s your favorite thing about working with CW? He replied working with Danielle! Made me super happy since he didn’t like anyone else other than me and my engineer! 😉

What makes ECR unique? What’s the best part about being a part of this company?

ECR truly cares about their employees, both professionally and personally. I love working here, I feel that I’m valued and appreciated.

What’s your take on the commercial real estate industry at the moment?

Austin is on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!

What trends or innovations are you seeing within operations and management in the real estate industry?

To me a huge innovation is what the various security access providers like Datawatch are offering. Who would have ever thought that you would no longer need to use an access card to open doors… you can use your phone!

What is your favorite hobby?

When I have free time I like to read, I love spending time with my fiancé, my son and our four cats. Oh and of course getting tattooed!

What’s a hidden talent no one knows you have?

Sadly, I’m very boring and don’t have any cool hidden talents!

What is the most important quality/skill a manager could possess?

To me, the most important qualities are integrity, communication and the desire to help their team grow. Luckily, I’ve got the BEST boss here at ECR!
