Stephen McMillen joined ECR as a Research Analyst in August 2025. He’s since been promoted to Brokerage Advisor — which is exactly what the program was built to do.
Getting into commercial real estate brokerage the traditional way is tough. It’s commission-based, relationship-driven, and it tends to favor people who already have a network before they make their first call. ECR’s Research Analyst program was built as a different entry point: analysts spend their time on market research, underwriting, and deal support, learning how the business actually works before they’re expected to go out and win it.
Stephen’s version of that: quarterly market reports, tracking properties and tenants across Austin, getting to know the market from the ground up before he ever worked a deal of his own. That’s still how he operates today. He leads with relationships and lets the data do the talking.

Stephen is now working full time as a broker in Austin, advising clients with the same market knowledge he built as an analyst.
